NIWAREKA – NĀTI PĒPI

Nāti Pēpi is a kaupapa Māori, whānau-centred service supporting māmā, pēpi and tamariki from hapūtanga through to 5 years of age.

We are seeking a passionate and capable Niwareka to join our team on a 12-monthfixed term, providing maternity leave cover across the East Coast from Uawa to Ruatorea.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a kaupapa that uplifts whānau, strengthens whakapapa, and enhances the wellbeing of our communities.

About the role:
Based in Te Puia Springs, you will work closely with māmā and whānau, providing support, coordination, and facilitation of kaupapa that nurture the oranga of pēpi and tamariki. You will be confident working both kanohi ki te kanohi and within community settings including marae.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting māmā, pēpi and tamariki (0–5 years) within a kaupapa Māori framework
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with whānau across the rohe
  • Facilitating and coordinating wānanga, hui and community-based events
  • Working collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams
  • Supporting whānau to access services and resources
  • Managing caseloads and administrative requirements effectively

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has energy, initiative, and a proactive approach to their mahi
  • Has an understanding of te reo Māori me ōna tikanga (or is on a     learning journey)
  • Is well connected within the community through whakapapa or established     networks
  • Lives locally on the East Coast (preferred)
  • Is confident facilitating hui and engaging with whānau on marae and in     community settings
  • Is highly organised and able to multitask in a dynamic environment
  • Holds a full driver’s licence

Must hold a current New Zealand Full Drivers Licence.
