Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role:

Ngati Porou Oranga seeks an experienced and passionate individual to join our Whanau Oranga Engagement Team. This role requires vision and future thinking, someone who is creative and highly motivated about driving and creating opportunities for our whanau to re-engage and reconnect with education, matauranga Māori, health, and wellbeing programs and services.  

We have a Permanent Full-time Whanau Engagement Manager position available, Te Tairawhiti – Potaka ki Te Toka a Taiau (Gisborne & East Coast) travelling as and when required. Reporting to our General Manager Whanau Oranga, you will work collaboratively with our kaimahi, management teams, and external agencies to develop, implement and deliver high-quality services to our Whanau.

Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako - Essential Skills & Experience:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A relevant qualification in Management or Senior Advisor working with whanau Maori is required.
  • Proven work history in a Management or Senior position with whanau support, education, health, and wellbeing services of at least 3 years essential. 
  • Strong professional community networks across Gisborne, the East Coast, and nationally.
  • A sound understanding of system improvement and matrix development.
  • Ability to communicate and motivate a team.
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of organisational and time management skills.
  • A clean, full current New Zealand driver's license.
