Te Runanganui o Ngati Porou have a Permanent Part-time position available and are seeking a dedicated and passionate Kaiawhina for our Te Huringa o te Ao – Supporting Men’s Behaviour Change programme. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to our vision of “Ngati Porou self-determination and control over our own destiny for future generations” by supporting whānau to become self-managing and take responsibility for their own wellbeing.

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

In this role, you will be at the forefront of providing essential Whānau Support, specifically focusing on those in crisis or at high risk. You will work closely with mokopuna and their whānau to help the midentify aspirations, overcome challenges, and restore mauri ora(wellbeing).

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Engagement &  Assessment: Leading a coordinated approach to whānau plans and     utilizing the Tuituia assessment tool to explore whānau strengths     and needs.
  • Whānau Advocacy:  Acting as a liaison and advocate to ensure whānau are aware of available     supports and are meeting their goals.
  • Collaborative Planning:  Developing and implementing plans that enhance overall family functioning     and safety.
  • Reporting:  Maintaining accurate documentation of whānau outcomes and progress within     our databases.

Your Qualifications & Experience:

  • A relevant  qualification (or currently working toward one) is preferred.
  • A proven work history  applicable to this position, with professional competence in working with     individuals and their whānau.
  • Strong professional  community networks and the ability to establish rapport quickly.
  • Excellent oral and  written communication skills, along with proficient computing skills.
  • High-level time  management and organizational skills.
