We are seeking a warm, organized, and reliable Medical Receptionist to join our team at Puhi Kai Iti Community Health Centre on a Permanent Part-time basis working Flexi Hours.. In this role, you will be the welcoming face and voice of our clinic, delivering supportive customer service to clients and whānau while ensuring smooth clerical, reception, and administrative operations.
Ngā Kawenga Matua – Key Responsibilities
- Reception & Customer Service: Greet clients and whānau with a warm, supportive approach; handle telephone and front-counter enquiries; and manage the appointment booking system.
- Patient Registration & Enrolments: Record personal and health details following Privacy Act guidelines, ensure 100% completion of PHO enrolment forms, and process re-enrolments.
- MedTech Administration & Invoicing: Process patient invoicing, collect fees, manage cash/cheque receipting, complete weekly/month-end banking reconciliations, and handle electronic claiming.
- Records & Resource Management: Maintain electronic patient files, scan medical documents into MedTech, and process stationery and supply requisitions.
- Clinic Operations & Environment: Maintain continuous reception coverage during clinic hours, ensure the clinic interior is clean, tidy, whānau-friendly, and secure premises at the end of each day.
Ngā Tohu Matauranga - Qualifications
- PC computer and clerical skills.
- Proficiency with Information Management Systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong front reception, counter, and phone customer service skills.
- Experience in records management.
Desirable:
- MedTech system experience is strongly preferred.
