Te Kaupapa o te Tūranga – Position Purpose
Ngāti Porou Oranga is seeking an experienced, proactivePractice Manager to lead daily operations at Puhi Kai Iti Community HealthCentre. In this fulltime role you will work closely with clinical leads andadministrative staff to ensure accessible, high-quality, and culturallyresponsive primary care services.
In this role, you will manage clinic workflows, staffonboarding and rosters, credentialing compliance, financial administration inXero, incident tracking via Assura, and reporting across Medtech Evolution andKARO.
Ngā Kawenga Matua – Key Responsibilities
· Operations & Facility Management: Overseereception workflows, clinical appointment access, equipment testing, storerequisitions, and clinic maintenance
· Workforce & Payroll Administration:Coordinate staff recruitment, onboarding, training registers, leave approvals,and timesheet submissions for payroll
· Resource & Financial Oversight: Exercisedelegated financial authority ($2,000 sub-delegation limit), prepare purchaseorders in Xero, and code invoices for approval
· Risk, Quality & Accreditation: Oversee theAssura Incident Management application, coordinate patient complaintsresolution, and lead practice quality improvement and accreditation processes
· Systems & Contract Reporting: Access andanalyze data across Medtech Evolution, KARO, and Te Whatu Ora systems tocompile monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deliverables
· Credentialing & Compliance: Maintain centralcompliance records for APCs, practising scopes, indemnity insurance, first aid,and vaccinations
Ngā Tohu Matauranga – Qualifications
· Relevant tertiary qualification in HealthManagement, Business Administration, Primary Healthcare, or equivalentoperational management experience
· Valid NZ Drivers Licence
Desirable:
· Post-graduate qualification in PrimaryHealthcare, Health Service Management, or Business
· Training or certification in Medtech Evolution,KARO reporting, or Assura Incident Management systems
Ngā Pukenga me Ngā Wheako – Skills / Knowledge /Experience
· Demonstrated experience managing operations in aprimary healthcare or medical clinic setting
· Practical knowledge of financial processes,invoice coding in Xero, and payroll administration
· Experience with health sector systems such asMedtech Evolution, KARO reporting, and Assura Incident Management
· Sound knowledge of Health & Safetylegislation, privacy regulations, and practice compliance
· Strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi,tikanga Māori, and delivering whānau-centred healthcare
· Valid NZ Driver’s Licence
Desirable:
· Post-graduate qualifications in Health ServiceManagement or Primary Healthcare
· Experience working within an Iwi/Māori healthprovider or primary care network in Tairāwhiti / East Coast
