Registered Nurse – Te Puia Hospital, East Coast

We are on the search for a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse looking for a Permanent Part-Time opportunity to make a meaningful impact .

About the role:

In this rural healthcare setting, you will play a crucial role in providing clinical expertise and ensuring the smooth operation of our facility. This role involves 32 hours per week on a 7-day roster, offering the chance to provide high-quality care across a diverse case mix, including medical, aged care, and emergency wards.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Performing comprehensive nursing assessments and delivering planned care to achieve identified outcomes.

• Administering treatments and medications safely within your scope of practice.

• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and facilitate necessary referrals.

• Ensuring all nursing practice is culturally safe and gives effect to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for a nurse who exemplifies our values of being hard-working, resilient, and approachable.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or equivalent) and current NZ Nursing Council Registration.

• At least one year of postgraduate experience (e.g Nurse Entry to Practice) or currently undertaking this training.

• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.

• The ability to work effectively in a small team and adapt to a non-structured, rural environment.
