Are you a highly organized, community-minded coordinator who thrives in a dynamic environment? Ngāti Porou Oranga is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Kaiwhakarite for our Care Services based in Tairawhiti to coordinate and support the effective delivery of programmes, services, wānanga, and events that advance our strategic kaupapa.
Working alongside our Care Services Manager, Kaimahi, andKaiawhina, you will play a vital role in ensuring that tamariki mokopuna andwhānau receive timely, respectful, and whānau-centred support.
Ngā Kawenga Matua – Key Responsibilities
- Service & Event Coordination: Plan and coordinate day-to-day operations, appointments, hui, case meetings, wānanga, and service activities.
- Whānau Support: Support whānau and tamariki mokopuna to navigate and access appropriate care pathways, ensuring all delivery reflects tikanga Māori.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build trusted relationships across hapū, iwi members, kaumātua, rangatahi, and community service providers.
- Resource & Financial Administration: Manage venues, transport, catering, equipment, and process financial documentation.
- Safeguarding & Quality: Ensure compliance with child protection, safety procedures, and organizational policies.
Ngā Tohu Matauranga - Qualifications
- Office Administration: A relevant qualification in Office Administration and Database Entry (preferred).
- Computer Literacy: A relevant qualification in Computer Literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (preferred).
- Te Tiriti o Waitangi: Demonstrated understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its practical application within health and community services.
- Licence: Current Full New Zealand Driver Licence.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Cultural Competency: Qualifications or formal training in Te Reo Māori and tikanga Māori.
- First Aid: Current First Aid Certificate.
- Systems Training: Training in client management systems, databases, or service-delivery software

- Competency in Te Reo Māori and tikanga Māori.
- Strong connections with Ngāti Porou whānau and hapū.
- Experience working within an iwi, hapū, kaupapa Māori, or whānau-centred organization.
- Exceptional organization, relationship-building, and communication skills.
- Experience in child protection, safeguarding, or family wellbeing services.
- Current First Aid Certificate.

- Organization & Time Management: Strong coordination, organizational, and time-management skills to balance competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Communication & Relationships: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to engage respectfully with tamariki mokopuna, whānau, and external providers.
- Administrative Capability: Strong record-keeping, database navigation, and digital office system skills.
- Problem Solving & Escalation: Ability to identify operational issues, assess priorities, and escalate risks appropriately.
- Professional Standards: Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound professional judgment, and work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Iwi & Community Connections: Strong connections with Ngāti Porou whānau, hapū, and local community networks.
- Kaupapa Māori Experience: Experience working within an iwi, hapū, kaupapa Māori, or whānau-centred organization.
- Whānau & Child Wellbeing: Experience working directly with tamariki mokopuna, child protection, safeguarding, or family wellbeing services.
- Service Coordination: Facilitation, hui coordination, case coordination, and multi-agency referral management skills
