Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
Ngāti Porou Oranga provides kaupapa Māori health and social services across Te Tairāwhiti with over 280 kaimahi from Gisborne to Te Araroa.
We are seeking a dedicated part-time Kaiawhina to support tamariki and whānau across Te Tairāwhiti.
The Tuhono Whānau / Family Start delivers intensive, home-based early intervention support to pregnant māmā and whānau with tamariki aged five (5) years and under.
The role focuses on strengthening parenting capability, promoting positive child development outcomes, enhancing whānau wellbeing, and supporting safe, nurturing home environments. Support is delivered in partnership with whānau and in collaboration with health, education, iwi, and community service providers, in alignment with Family Start service outcomes and Ngati Porou Oranga values.
NGĀ TOHU MĀTAURANGA – QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL
Relevant qualification or demonstrated experience in social services, health, education, or whānau support
Ability to meet Children’s Act safety checking requirements
Full New Zealand Driver Licence
DESIRABLE
Level 4 or higher qualification in Social Services, Social Work, Early Childhood Education, Nursing, Midwifery, or Community Services
Training in parenting support, child development, or early intervention practice
