Using the O-RA digital platform
O-RA (Original Registry Application) is an iwi digital registry platform. For whānau members who have an email address, Te Rūnanganui o Ngāti Porou will use this platform for uri to register, however if you do not have an email address call 0800 676 768 for a registration form to be sent out to you in the post.
Registration strengthens Ngāti Porou
Registering confirms your eligibility to vote in Trustee elections and ensures you receive AGM notices and official iwi pānui. It also supports access to grants and scholarships available to registered members.

Your information is protected
Your personal information is treated as confidential and managed in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020. It is used only for purposes consistent with the Trust Deed and to maintain the Ngāti Porou Register. For whanau who are registered using the O-RA digital platform, please refer to their privacy statement.
You must select your primary marae
Your primary marae determines which Rohenga Tipuna you belong to. During Trustee elections, you are eligible to vote for candidates standing within your Rohenga Tipuna.
You may list additional marae on your account, but your primary marae defines your voting area.

An email address is required to set up and account online through O-RA.
However, an email address is not required under the Trust Deed. If you do not have an email address, please call 0800 676 768 and we will send you a paper registration form or assist you over the phone.
Te Rūnanganui o Ngāti Porou has moved to a new secure registration platform (O-RA). Setting up your O-RA account allows you to register directly with Te Rūnanganui o Ngati Porou and manage your information directly going forward.
Online registration usually takes 5–10 minutes, depending on how much whakapapa information you have available.
You will be asked to provide your parents, grandparents, and known tūpuna where possible, along with your primary marae affiliation. If you do not know all details, provide as much as you can.
Yes. Tamariki under 18 can be registered by a parent or legal guardian who is currently registered. If the parent or guardian logs in to their O-RA account, they are able to add a profile for their tamariki.
