More affordable homes for our whānau
118 affordable homes are being funded with the first homes expected by June 2027. This is a partnership opportunity with the Crown who have identified Ngāti Porou Oranga (a subsidiary of Te Runanganui o Ngāti Porou) as one of four preferred delivery partners for this project. Minister Potaka and Minister Bishop made the announcement in Gisborne on Thursday 20August: More than 820 homes through Flexible Fund | Beehive.govt.nz.
Te Runanganui o Ngāti Porou CEO, Henare Walker says “Housing has been raised as a priority by our iwi, and we shared this sentiment when we metwith the Crown in June for our Annual Crown Summit. Since then, we have been actively working with relevant Crown agencies to explore opportunities andensure Ngati Porou priorities are at the centre of decisions that might impact our rohenga.”
