By-election confirmed candidates 2026
Nominations to fill the extraordinary vacancy for the Noho Kaenga trustee position for Rohenga Tipuna 3 – Pohautea ki Te Onepoto, closed at 5pm on Friday 27 February 2026. The confirmed candidates (in alphabetical order) are:

As there were more nominations received than vacancies for the Elected Representative position, an election will be held by postal, online and Wahi Pooti voting to confirm the elected member.
Voter packs will be posted to registered Adult Members of Rohenga Tipuna 3 – Pohautea ki Te Onepoto from 19 March 2026 and voting will close at 12 noon on Monday 20 April 2026.
Te Runanganui o Ngati Porou will give further notice of the by-election process by 19 March 2026, including Wahi Pooti details. Those updates will be advertised in newspapers and via Te Runanganui o Ngati Porou’s communication channels.
