The "Digital Nati" workshops will be hosting an expert line up of presenters who are leaders within the ICT industry and cover a wide spectrum of ICT experience and expertise. They have worked on a range of projects locally and internationally and are excited to come to our rohe to share their knowledge and passion for ICT.

Jade Doel

Te Whanau a Ruataupare, Ngati Porou - Since graduating from Unitec in Auckland with a Bachelor of Product and Furniture Design in 2012, Jade has worked in the ICT Industry as a UX Designer. He worked for Orion Health who specialises in medical and health technologies as the user experience designer on a patient portal web app called  "Cura", an app that gives users the ability to manage their health care and that of their whanau. For the past 12 months, Jade, alongside 3 friends developed their own startup IT company GohMee Ltd and launched their healthy eating App, “Gohmee” this month. Jade enjoys working in ICT because of the way technology can help to improve the lives of people and empower them to succeed and accomplish their goals.


Brenda Wallace

Brenda is a senior engineer at Rabid. Brenda is a long time open source contributor, recently escaped from a programming job deep within Weta Digital, and very happy to join the good people at Rabid. Brenda has 20 years experience in programming and has worked on mobile telecommunications systems, embedded software, massively parallel processing, web, distributed data, and "smartphone" platforms. Brenda also enjoys cycle camping, and making good coffee in the middle of rainforest mountains.


Joshua Vial

Joshua leads the teaching team at Ensipral Dev Academy. He is an entrepenuer with a passion for business, technology and social change. He has over a decade of experience building and running internet based businesses and is the founder of Enspiral, a collective of social entrepenuers. Joshua is an experienced programmer and has experience in a variety of technologies.


Josh Forde 

A director of Rabid, Josh advises start-ups and commercial clients on their strategy and direction. He’s seen many audacious projects and brings that wide experience to projects at Rabid. With interests including online entrepreneurship, social enterprise and product development, Josh cares about the impact work has on clients and understands that successful projects involve hard work and clear communication.


Chris Cormack

Nga Tahu - Chris is a member of a creative, collaborative team with a record of solving complex business problems specialising in open source software development at Catalyst Limited in Wellington.Chris specialises in developing, deploying and supporting enterprise grade systems and their related services.


Ian Apperly

Ian has spent twenty years as a freelance writer and an ICT professional. He specialises in strategic planning, particularly around new technologies such as cloud technology, the internet of things and smart cities. Ian's also has expertise in infrastructure strategy development, planning, and operation and change managment.


Char Clark

Ngati Kahu, Ngati Ruapani ki Waikaremoana, Ngati Kahungungu ki Wairarapa Moana - Char is involved with her own whanau, hapu and iwi development on various levels. She lives in Tairawhiti and has dedicated her career to maori development. Her work experience ranges from environmental and arts through to ICT. Char is now a Project manager who is  merging multiple Maori language websites into the new government initiative, the common web platform.


Jamie Campbell

Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāti Mahuta, Ngāti Apakura, Ngāti Rora, Te Urirori (Ngāti Hine) - Jaime facilitates and oversees the remote learning program at Enspiral Dev Academy. She is also a graduate of Enspiral Dev Academy, having studied web development in 2014. Jaime has a great love for creating physical, systematic and cultural environments that enable people to thrive and flourish.


Toni Reid

Toni is part of the Lifehack Team. Life Hack is a small but passionate group of committed people who have diverse backgrounds and skills, tied together by the desire to unlock the creative potential of the people of Aotearoa New Zealand to lead positive change.
