Kaiawhina - Kaiti to Tokomaru Bay ( 3 positions available)

We are looking for three (3) people who are qualified (or working towards qualification) social workers to work with tamariki/rangatahi in our schools from Kaiti to Tokomaru Bay. These positions require those with commitment and empathy to support the educational outcomes of learners from Year 1 – 8, their whanau, their school and their hapu/community.

One position is a permanent part-time role based in Tolaga Bay Area School, servicing the schools and kura kaupapa between Tolaga and Tokomaru Bay. The other two positions are permanent full-time and will service schools from Whangara to Kaiti. The people we seek to appoint will also have: the ability to engage with whanau and schools; and the skills and knowledge it takes to work in the Ngati Porou rohe. The suitable applicants will be required to be Police Vetted prior to starting in this role and must own their own vehicle.

KAIAWHINA – WHANAU ORANGA (SOCIAL WORKER FTE POSITION)

Te Runanganui O Ngati Porou are looking for someone who has experience in the coordination and/or facilitation of activities, services and opportunities to support the aspirations of whānau/families to become self-managing and take responsibility for their own wellbeing outcomes. This position will have a strong focus on building the strengths and capacity of whanau/families to ensure that their children have the best possible start in life. The ideal person will require a social work qualification and is preferably registered under the Social Worker’s Registration Board or other recognised competency institutes.

You’ll work with other community service providers to ensure the needs of vulnerable children and their families/whanau are fully met. The successful applicant will be Police vetted prior to starting the role.
